Vic Headed for a Blackmores Bridge Run Triple!

Vic Mitchell is one of Australia’s leading ladies of the track and road running scene. She’s been at the pointy end for well over a decade and recently returned from once again representing her country on the biggest stage of all. Now Vic turns her sight to the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 9km Bridge Run, attempting her third win in a row!

What was it like competing in your second Olympics?

It was satisfying and fulfilling, a great experience.

The Bridge Run is triple your preferred race distance, what made you choose it as your first race after Rio?

I have done the Bridge Run for the past two years so it’s a part of my preferred fun runs and I really enjoy the course.

What are you most looking forward to at the event?

Crossing the finish line first?! Haha. I’m also part of a team so it will be great to socialise afterwards at the IsoWhey display.

What are you least looking forward to?!

Getting up early! Although it is a pretty decent start time in comparison to the marathon.

What advice do you have for first-timers at the event?

Allow plenty of time to get to the start and don’t go out too fast. Have fun!

After this, what’s next for Vic Mitchell?

I have a couple of other fun runs; the Burnie 10 and the Balmain Fun Run. I will probably start track early as well and so the state 3,000m and a steeplechase on Dec 8th. That rounds out 2016.
