1. The North Face 100
As the biggest and most prestigious ultra in the country, it’s impossible to go passed this as the number one choice. It’s a seriously big event, incredibly well organised, features world-class fields and the course is spectacular.
2.The Buffalo Stampede
It’s the epic nature of this event that makes it so special. As the first official Skyrun in the country, race director Sean Greenhill was somewhat of a pioneer to organise an event so bloody tough and different to any other on offer.
3. Six Foot Track
With long-standing history, a tough but runnable course and a finish line atmosphere unsurpassed, this event is a must-do for anyone that loves a jaunt on the trails. Just get your entry in early, they sell out in minutes!
4. Two Bays
It’s the Six Foot of the south! As far as off-road events go south of Sydney, this is the biggest. It’s a fast and furious race on a scenic course, plus attracts quality runners to make the pointy end highly competitive.
5. The Great North Walk 100’s
It’s tough, it’s long and it’s…well, tough. The course follows a famed walking track that links Sydney and Newcastle. There are hills, mud, leeches and often extreme heat and humidity that makes this the hardest 100 mile race Down Under.
