Runner’s Gift Guide
Race Entry
“Never again” is the catch cry of many a runner after they suffer through an event. But then within days they’re searching for the next opportunity to flog themselves. So why not force them into a race by entering them into one! The best thing about that is you can choose something that you might like to go along and run or spectate at too.
For those in NSW look no further than what the team at 180 Cadence has offer.
For our friends in Victoria, you’ve got the epic races Single Track puts on across the state.
Trail Run Magazine Subscription
As the only dedicated trail running magazine in Australia, Trail Run mag is a must for any passionate traily. It has great articles, race reviews, training advice, a calendar, product reviews and more. Click here for more info!
Massage Voucher
Every runner needs to take better care of themselves and one thing we often neglect is massage. So give the gift of a rubdown to someone you know that complains about being sore all the time.
Online Coaching
One of the best ways to improve as a runner is to seek out a good coach. There are plenty of options out there, but we think we’re the best 🙂 If you don’t want to get them on a long term plan, reach out for a one on one phone consultation for them. Click here to learn more!
Biomechanical Assessment
Improving the way we move to create better efficiency and reduce the injury risk is an area a lot of runners ignore until they break themselves. Getting a running gait analysis is the best way to understand how you move and create a plan to fix inadequacies. Any good running specialist physio generally offers this service, but as we don’t work with physio in all states, we can only recommend the bet in Sydney that we refer to – The Body Mechanic.
Heart Rate Monitor
Tracking heart rate data during exercise and when at rest is a one percenter that can help refine training and better understand recovery. Many watches offer a wrist-based measurement, but this is not nearly as accurate as a chest strap. Nor do they offer heart rate variance data. So grab your running mate heart rate monitor this Christmas, and the one we like is the Polar H10.
Pace Athletic Gift Voucher
If you’re still stumped for gift ideas then the one failsafe is a voucher for a running specialty store. There are loads out there, but we love what the guys from Pace Athletic have to offer. It’s a great range, amazing service and they are big supporters of the running community.
