Nike Pegasus 37 Review

A mainstay of the Nike running range, when it comes to a safe, quality pair of kicks, the Pegasus is about as reliable as you can get. With the release of the Pegasus 37 there are some great improvements on the 36, which mind you, was already a favourite.

Apart from maintaining the great looks we’re accustomed to, they’ve added some tech to improve the shoe’s performance. Straight out of the box they’re super comfortable. The fit is suited to a normal to slim foot, not for those of the flat and wide variety. It takes about 50km or so to settle into them properly, and once you have you’re in for a cosy ride. The upper is lighter and more breathable than the 36, with a snug fit that hugs the foot. The improved lacing system gives a more secure feel, with a softer heel cup that seems friendlier on the Achilles. The 10mm drop is also good for those with Achilles issues.

The React foam through the midsole is the key change in this iteration, and one that’s welcomed. It makes for a nicer feel on the road and a shoe that’s suited for a broad range of applications. From long runs to tempo work, on road or grass, the Pegasus 37 is perfectly at home. The Air Zoom in the forefoot makes for a great transition through foot-strike, with a slightly more ‘reactive’ feel to the 36.

If you’re after a shoe for everyday use, or if you had only one pair in your arsenal, then the Nike Pegasus 37 is the one for you!
