Bondi to Manly Ultra!

The Minister for Environment James Griffin was today joined by Mayors and representatives of the Commonwealth Government to officially launch the Bondi to Manly Ultra marathon. 

The inaugural Bondi to Manly Ultra will be held on 5 November 2022, and will be an 80km ultra marathon from Bondi Beach to Manly Beach. 

The entire run will follow the cliff top and harbourside walking tracks of the Bondi to Manly Walk and will be: 

  • An 80km ultra marathon, run by solo runners, or relay teams of 4
  • The first ultra-marathon in the world to traverse a major global city
  • A Not-for-Profit event to raise funds for the Bondi to Manly Walking Track 

Janssen, a global leader in pharmaceuticals, is the inaugural naming rights sponsor of the race, and the 2022 event will officially be named the Janssen Bondi to Manly Ultra. Business NSW and HOKA are also major partners for the event. 

The Hon. James Griffin, Minister for Environment and Heritage and Member for Manly said, “The Bondi to Manly Ultra is a world first event in that it traverses a global city and finishes in the centre of the universe – Manly!” 

Bondi to Manly Ultra Managing Director Elle Pacholski said, “The Bondi to Manly Ultra will showcase the very best of Sydney in one epic challenge. Runners will pass by all of Sydney’s major icons, our two best known beaches, the Opera House, and Harbour Bridge, and around the world’s best Harbour. It will be a truly world class event.”
